May 1 Valley Forge

We headed out from home at 6am. It has been a pretty easy drive down through New York/New Jersey. Not as much traffic as I thought. We took 95 South and got on the Merritt Parkway to the Tappan Zee Bridge. Headed west on 287 to 95 South. Then 276 west on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Now we are heading to Valley Forge for a tour. We arrived at Valley Forge around 12:30 and started the driving tour around the park. What a beautiful area and the day is sunny in high 70’s. It’s very hilly and overlooks the whole area. The auto tour is 10 miles long and free. You dial a number on your cell phone and listen for prompts.

  1. What a great start! Perfect weather, and even the traffic cooperated. My experience driving those roads is that they are some of the most stressful across the rest of your trip. I'm so glad is was easy sailing. Keep the notes coming!!
