May 6
Leaving Warrior Creek after cereal and coffee, we headed out by 9:15. Driving to Tennessee we rode along Rt 321 which is a beautiful, winding road that goes through the Smoky Mountains. We stopped along the way to sing happy birthday to Tommy on FaceTime. It’s been sprinkling off and on all morning. We entered Tennessee around 10:30 and now riding along a pretty river to Watauga Lake. I saw my first deer! Originally we were going to pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway again but Tom was feeling a little anxious about not having a spare tire. There are such pretty purple Princess Trees growing along the highways down here. We changed to Central Time when we drove through Cookeville TN. About an hour and 45 minuets more driving. We should arrive about 3:15 (4:15), so about 7 hours driving. Arrived at Seven Points Campground, Nashville TN and set up by 4:15. Love this campsite. On a beautiful lake and very woodsy with nice sites. We walked down to the water and then drove over to the showers and laundry. Showers are not the best we have seen but will suffice for one night. I did a load of laundry and in the middle of drying we got a thunderstorm. Wouldn’t be bad but the washer and dryer were outside under a roof. Oh the joys of camping!
We decided to go out to eat so went to McNamara’s Irish Pub in Nashville. Very nice meal, Guinness and live music. Nice way to end the day.

Tom, you must have gotten pretty close to that rest stop on I-40 that we rode our bikes to, to watch the total eclipse. Hopefully, it wasn't as hot as it was that day...
