May 2 & 3

We arrived at Cherry Hill Park, College Park MD around 2pm. This campground is definitely worth staying at. Everything is clean and so spread out. Anything you would need is here.  Driving from Pennsylvania to Maryland was pretty uneventful. The landscape is a lot like New England. We checked into our camp site but decided to move it because, again, traffic noise. The one we have now is much better. In full sun so we tried hooking up our air conditioner and it work amazingly! So now we are just chilling and will be going on a 5 hour tour of DC at 6pm, visiting all of the amazing memorials and monuments.
We retuned from our bus tour and had an amazing time. The weather was perfect for a lovely evening
tour. Beautiful city with so much to see. The tour cost was $50 but well worth the price. These are the places we stopped to visit:
US Capitol
White House
Lincoln Memorial
Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Korean War Memorial
World War II Memorial
Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial
Martin Luther King Memorial
Jefferson Memorial
and many more sites we drove by.
Next day after breakfast and doing laundry we took an Uber into DC to visit some of the museums. We went to National History Museum, National Museum of African American History and Culture and American History Museum. We only saw portions of these fine museums and were so impressed with everything we saw. It’s hard to pick a favorite. We did so much walking and it was really hot, so by the end of the day we were ready to sit and eat. We met up with Tom’s cousin and his wife who live in DC which we  haven’t  seen in over 40 years. We had such a nice time and hope to come back some day and spend more time in this amazing city. I love DC❤️
Now back at campsite it’s  9:30, we are having a cider and hitting the sack!  On to our next adventure.
